Shadow of the Comet - Coulis
So what is Shadow of the Comet ? It's an adventure game released by Infogrames in 1993. It's an official adaptation of the RPG Call of Cthulhu, which means that it surely contains: tentacles, insane cultists and of course you usual bed time reading, the Necronomicon. It got awful controls and an insane difficulty but it's still one of my favourite adventure games. You may not know the game itself but you probably have heard of the sequel: Prisoner of Ice...

Clive Barker's Jericho - Coulis
Before being praised for the reboot of Castlevania, the Spanish developpers from Mercury Steam created a video game with the famous writer Clive Barker. It was called Jericho, no link with the TV show and no link with Undying either. Clive Barker's Jericho is an horror FPS released in 2007 on xbox 360, ps3 and pc. It was quickly sold in bargain bins because well... it's not very good. I am probably one of the few persons in the world who actually enjoyed the game, mostly for the music, the backg...

Obscure 1 and 2 - Coulis
ObsCure is a survival horror video game developed by Hydravision Entertainment and published by Microïds in 2004. It mocks the Teen Movie horror genre (ex: The Faculty) and each character you control is an stupid stereotype. The twist is that you manage two characters at once and each of them has a special ability. The other thing is that most of the monsters are fueled by Darkness, so you need to light them up before you can kill them...

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Coulis
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a 2010 action adventure game made by the crazy spaniards who brought us Clive Barker's Jericho. It's supposed to be a reboot/revamp of the cult-classic Castlevania series, but it actually has very little in common with it. Still, it's worth a look ! Don't be scared by the God of War copy appearance, it's a good game with a terrific art direction. The plot is fucking bad, but that doesn't stop it from being catchy...

Martian Gothic: Unification - Coulis
Martian Gothic: Unification (a.k.a. Martian Gothic) is a survival horror game for the PlayStation and PC. It was developed by Creative Reality and published by Take-Two Interactive. It's not as bad as Overblood but it gets really weird sometimes. The voice acting is dreadful and there is a lot of weirdly inserted jokes. The LP is partially blind. I never played the game but I have a walkthrough with me...

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones - Coulis
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones (aka The Two Kingdoms in France or Rival Swords on Wii and PSP) is the final opus of the revamped trilogy started in 2003 by Ubi Soft, based upon the famous creation of Jordan Mechner. It's principally a platforming game but also contains combat and puzzles. OOOOkay... So why should I watch this ? I think it's a pretty good game, keeping the combat system of the second game with the atmosphere of the first one...
